Fall Winter 1996 "Dante" Collection double-layered floral tank top by Alexander McQueen. The eighth runway collection by the designer, and the first of his highly stylistized self art directed shows. This collection explores the work of Dante Alighieri and his book "The Divine Comedy". This collection was McQueen's most successful to date, and led to his appointment as creative director for Givenchy. Many of the models used for the show were London club kids, and that subversive yet style-forward design is evident in this piece.
